Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the advantage of the Gaco system over sheet goods?

A: GacoFlex seamless, monolithic roof coating system eliminates common sources of leaks by sealing around air ducts, smokestacks, and other protrusions. Sheet products have seams, overlaps, and gaps where leaks often begin. Another advantage GacoFlex coatings have over sheet products is that the coating is 100% adhered to the substrate. A 100% adhered membrane prevents water from running under or pooling underneath the membrane.

Q: Does the Gaco system work for new roofs or retrofits?

A: GacoFlex roof coatings will waterproof and insulate new roof constructions, as well as rejuvenate existing foam roofs.

Q: How do I patch or repair the roof?

A: A regular inspection should be conducted of the roof coating every six months. Single-component urethane caulk may be used to temporarily repair roof punctures. To permanently repair a hole or puncture, clean the affected area, fill it in with pourable foam or caulk, allow it to dry, and recoat the area with GacoFlex coating.
