Q: Can the Gaco system coat over rust?

A: The GacoFlex system can be used to coat over minor rust. Friable rust and scale must be removed using a wire brush, or by sandblasting affected areas. Loose joints and fasteners should be repaired, along with any holes. A coat of E-5320 primer improves adhesion and reduces the potential for rust.
