Case Study - Duvall Pedestrian Deck

"Gaco did a great job. We will certainly recommend you." - Duvall homeowner

Problem: Previously installed vinyl decking is unsightly and leaks onto roof below.

Solution: Gaco Western GW-13-U urethane pedestrian deck coating.

A spacious new home in Duvall, Washington was designed to allow the owners to enjoy a beautiful view of the Cascade mountain range. To take advantage of the view, the home included floor to ceiling windows and three outdoor decks.

Palkha Waterproofing was selected to install and waterproof the decks during the summer of 1999.

First, metal flashing was put into place. A urethane base coat of GacoFlex UB-6407 was applied to the plywood surface. After the base coat cured, the urethane finish coat, GacoFlex U-66, was troweled over the surface. These steps were repeated for all three decks, a total of 2000 square feet.

The pleased homeowner commented, "Gaco and Pahlka Waterproofing did a very fine job. We will certainly recommend you."
